Gloria Joan Luikart, age 94 passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017.
She was born on May 11, 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio to parents Leo and Ceynora Von Berg. As a child she moved to Warwood where she resided most of her life. Gloria is preceded in death by Vernon Edward Luikart, her Husband of 36 years, brother Robert Von Berg of Ithaca, New York and her first born son, Gary Stephen Luikart of Wheeling.
She is survived by her sons Thomas Lee (Hattie Rataiczak) Luikart of Palm Bay, Florida and Mark Edward (Wendy Mozena) Luikart of Deltona, Florida, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Gloria was a graduate of Warwood High School and West Liberty State College. She taught 3rd grade at Parkview Grade School in Moundsville for 20 years. Gloria was a well known local vocalist and church choir director having spent much of her adult life performing and directing in several local churches. Most of all, Gloria was known for her pleasant demeanor and friendly smile. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Greenwood Cemetery.
