New Student Orientation is your opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, and fellow students while finalizing important steps like registration, financial aid, housing, and student support services. Whether you’re a first-time freshman or transfer student, we’re here to ensure a smooth transition to West Liberty University!

On-Campus Orientation
Check-in: Elbin Library (Parking available behind Elbin Library)
Location: Elbin Library is #2 on the campus map
Accessibility: Shuttle available for mobility needs
Schedule:
8:30–9:15 AM – Check-in
9:15–9:30 AM – Welcome & Schedule Overview
9:30–11:00 AM – Parent & Student Sessions
11:00–11:30 AM – Faculty Session
11:30 AM–12:30 PM – Lunch
12:00–4:00 PM – Campus Offices Open for Appointments
Session Highlights
Parent Session: Meet Student Affairs & Enrollment staff (Financial Aid, Housing, Health Services, Academic Support) to ease your student’s transition.
Student Session: Learn to navigate WLU’s online systems (Single Sign-On, WINS, Housing Portal, Email), connect with student leaders, and meet fellow Hilltoppers.
Faculty Session: Meet deans and faculty from your program to discuss coursework, expectations, and career paths.
Afternoon: Take your Topper Card photo, visit your residence hall, confirm course schedules, and finalize financial aid.

9:00–10:00 AM – Parent Session
10:00–11:00 AM – Student Session
The Parent and Student sessions mirror the on-campus experience, covering essential topics with Student Affairs & Enrollment staff, online system navigation, and a Q&A.
