Ambassadors Show Visitors #HilltopIsHome

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Sept. 7, 2018 — West Liberty University’s Office of Admissions has a special team of assistants that reach out to visitors and show them just how special the Hilltop is from a student’s perspective.

“Our Student Ambassadors give campus tours to prospective students and their families, assist with admissions events, and are liaisons for the campus. We couldn’t do our work nearly as well without them. Their contribution is invaluable,” said Admissions Event Coordinator Michelle Filberto, who works in the Enrollment Services Center.

Student Ambassadors are ready to help prospective students feel at home.

Filberto is now in her seventh year working at WLU, beginning first as a financial aid counselor before taking on her current role this past June.

“This year we are focusing on the idea that the Hilltop is home. It’s a safe, friendly and comfortable campus — a home away from home for our students as they earn their college degree,” she said.

She plans all the on-campus admission events and schedules the campus tours throughout the year. She also supervises the 16 student ambassadors.

Campus tours are given Monday through Friday, every hour from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Ambassadors also help set-up and take part in Black and Gold Days and Open House events, both designed for all prospective students.

Student Ambassadors, academic majors and hometowns include:

Seniors

Juniors

Sophomore

Filberto recommends planning campus visits at least 10 days in advance. For more information on touring WLU, please visit westliberty.edu/visit or call 304.336.8076.
