  • If you are planning a trip to campus to pay the deposit, cash and credit card payments can be made to the Business Office on the third floor of Shaw Hall; check or money order payments can be made to the Housing & Residence Life Office in Rogers Hall.
  • Effective July 1st, 2015: All credit/debit card payments to the University will be assessed a non-refundable 2.25% service fee.  There will be no fee applied for paying with electronic check.  For questions about this fee, please contact the Business Office.
  • Deposits are refundable before the given deadlines.  When cancelling your room for the fall semester, the deadline to cancel and receive a refund is July 31st.  When cancelling your room for the spring semester, the deadline is December 15th.

To apply for housing for the spring 2027 applicants, please follow the process below or watch our instructional video.

  1. Access Single Sign On using your WLU email (username is your email prefix and password is your 8-digit birthday).  If you have login difficulties, you can submit a ticket to our IT Helpdesk.
  2. Once you access Single Sign On, select the “Adirondack Student Housing Portal” to open your self-service portal.
  3. Click on Applications & Forms in the left sidebar, then select the “New Student Housing Application” for the fall semester.
  4. Review and electronically sign the housing contract.  If you are under 18, you will need a parent/guardian to sign as well.
  5. Complete the application and click submit.  You will receive a confirmation email.
  6. Select your meal plan.  Undergraduate students living in residence halls must select one of the full meal plan options (12, 14 or Unlimited4U plan).
  7. Select housing preferences, listing up to seven housing options in order of preference.  We recommend selecting more than one option in case your top pick is not available.
  8. If needed, you can return to your application, edit it, and resubmit at any time.

New Student
Application

Apply online now (for new students and current students who are not currently living on campus)

New students interested in applying for a residence hall room at West Liberty University need to complete an application, and submit a damage deposit of $100.  In order for an application to be processed and a room reserved, both the application and deposit must be received.  There is not a deadline for submission of applications, earlier application increases the probability that you will be assigned to the room or building of your choice, with the roommate of your choice.  The Office of Housing & Residence Life will make every effort to meet the reasonable requests of students for their rooms.  If you choose to cancel your application, the damage deposit will be refund in cases where written cancellation request was received prior to July 15th for fall applications, and prior to December 20th for spring applications.

Room assignments will be made based on the date we receive both application and deposit, and prioritized accordingly.  New students will begin receiving their assignments via email on June 1st each year.  Students can access their assignment through their WINS account, and instructions will be included in the room assignment email.

Single rooms are available in the designated buildings (Beta, Boyd, Curtis and Rogers Halls) based on vacancy at the time of application.  Single rooms are not available in double room buildings (Bonar, Hughes and Krise Halls) except in cases where the student has a special accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Choosing a Roommate

If a student does not have a specific roommate request, we will utilize the interest survey portion of the room application to assign them a roommate who will best match their interests.  For this reason, it is very important that the student fill out the room application themselves!  Once the student receives their room assignment and roommate information, we strongly encourage them to contact their roommate to begin getting to know one another and making plans for their room.  If a student strongly believes that they are not a solid match, or discovers there are problems either before or after they move into the room, the Office of Housing & Residence Life will work diligently with the student to find a more comfortable living situation.
