Biography
I am a broadly trained human geographer, but my main focus is on an interdisciplinary subfield known as political ecology, which seeks to understand the intersection of politics, economics, and the environment. I am particularly interested in natural resources in Appalachia. Ill soon be defending my doctoral dissertation at WVU, which focuses on the geographical aspects of anti-mountaintop removal coal mining in southern West Virginia. I have secondary research interests in flood resiliency in Appalachia, and also in the Invasivore movement, which proposes eating invasive species as a way to combat their environmental impact.
