Student COVID-19 Testing Now Must be Done On-Campus
August 04, 2020WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Aug. 4, 2020 — We have now learned that the mandatory COVID-19 testing required for West Liberty University students and announced Monday, Aug. 3, must be done ON-CAMPUS during the FREE upcoming Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department testing planned for next week.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause our students and their families.
The on-campus health department testing is a mass testing and no appointments will be taken. Because this testing will be done as if the participants are asymptomatic, there will be no need to self-quarantine after taking a test.
Everyone is urged to wear a mask, limit community activity and practice good hand sanitation prior to getting their test results back.
Results could be delayed because of increase testing, but it is the goal to have results back within 1-3 days. Participants will be notified of positive results by the Wheeling Ohio-County Health Department, according to Howard Gamble, Wheeling-Ohio County health administrator.
This mandatory testing applies to both graduate and undergraduate students. The only exception would be in the case of a student who is not physically present on campus during the Fall semester.
More information will follow on the testing location, times and particulars, so please stay alert to campus emails for more information.
