Success in the Time of COVID-19
April 29, 2020WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 29, 2020 — Despite the pandemic, the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter at West Liberty University shared good news with campus recently by taking honors at the regional conference that took place just after social distancing took over.

“Due to COVID-19, the conference took an online format and students presented their work in a virtual setting. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have workshops like we usually do but we did have the competition and WLU emerged with several winners,” said Hayden Blazer, who is advisor to the student group and a graduate assistant in the Gary E. West College of Business.
“A few days later we had a live reading of the awards of excellence also to congratulate the winners and share the news with the state,” Blazer added. Blazer also is the state advisor for the conference and is from Glen Dale, W.Va.
“Fellow PBL advisor Professor Sherry Rocchio and I are proud of our members. They worked hard throughout the year and will do well at the national level I’m sure, despite the pandemic,” he added.
All students attending the leadership conference are enrolled in the Gary E. West College of Business. They will join hundreds of America’s college students in a virtual national conference and competition next, later in June, which offers thousands in cash prizes.
