WLSN Continues Live Coverage

The 2013 Hilltopper Football season is underway and the West Liberty University Television Sports Network is there to bring live play by play coverage right to your living room! This is the seventh year for WLSN to be broadcasting during the football season and the third year to be bringing live video coverage of every game.

This year, WLUTV is proud to welcome Scott Nolte to the team. Nolte will be announcing play by play for every home and away football game. Nolte has worked with WLUTV during last years basketball season during tournaments, but will be serving as the new Voice of the Hilltoppers during football season. Nolte commented,  “I am honored to have this opportunity with WLU-TV and I’m looking forward to bringing the excitement of West Liberty football to Hilltopper fans everywhere.”

Nolte is a Wheeling native, and has been with WTRF since 1993, serving as Sports Director since 1996.During that time they  have earned several awards including “Outstanding Sports Operation” “Best Regularly Scheduled Sportscast” and “Best Play by Play” in both West Virginia and Ohio.

Nolte is a husband and father, married to the former Susan Sparks of Wheeling. He has  four children; Zachary, Paige, and twins Lucas and Lauren and two step-daughters Annie and Lauren. During his broadcasting career he has also spent time in the radio industry, working at Eagle 107, 95.7 WEEL FM and AM 1600.

Nolte also teaches part-time at Wheeling Park High School in the TV and Radio career tech education department.

In his free time, Nolte enjoys attending sporting events, such as Mountaineer Football and Basketball games and Cleveland Indians games.


The Hilltopper season continues on Saturday, October 12th when the hilltoppers take on the Fairmont Falcons at 2:00 PM
