Center for Entrepreneurship Announces Activities

CFE Incubator InteriorThe Center for Entrepreneurship has announced a list of upcoming projects and events for Fall, 2013.

  • In partnership with the WLU Foundation, the Center for Entrepreneurship has acquired space for a business incubator. The space is located in the First State Capitol Building in downtown Wheeling and will be called “Intellectual Capitol.”  The new space will be housing West Liberty graduates who wish to take advantage of a downtown location and start-up funding.  Incubator participants will be able to be housed in the location for 12-18 months as they grow their business.  Once the initial start-up phase is complete and the owners need to move on, the Regional Economic Development Partners are prepared to help establish lower cost storefronts in downtown Wheeling and the local area.
  • The Center will once again offer its Pitch Contest at the Intellectual Capitol on September 26.  Participants have an opportunity to “pitch” or sell an idea to potential investors and receive real start-up capital to help get their idea off the ground.
  • The WV Business Plan Competition is accepting applications for competitors.  Registrations are due by October 11.  http://www.be.wvu.edu/bpc/
  • Create WV is holding its Entrepreneurship Summit in Richwood, WV on October 24-26.
