West College of Business Senior Consultant and Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship John Bonassi is representing the WCOB at the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 76th Annual Meeting and Business Summit in White Sulphur Springs this week. The event is the premiere yearly gathering of West Virginia’s business leaders. This year’s agenda features West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, and U.S. Representative David
McKinley, along with CEOs of major West Virginia businesses. WLU President Robin Capehart is serving as a discussion panelist for the symposium, “Solving Education Challenges in West Virginia,” sponsored by West Liberty University. In addition, West Virginia basketball legend Jerry West and Dana Perino, Fox News personality and former press secretary to President George W. Bush, are featured speakers.
Mr. Bonassi is well-known around the business school for his personal attention in helping students make employment connections and prepare for the job hunt, as well as for his engaging entrepreneurship classes. During the week-long summit, he is networking with key business managers from throughout the region, promoting the WLU business program and its students, and making connections with the state’s employers for potential internships and job opportunities. Mr. Bonassi, a WLU graduate and staunch supporter, is former Chief of Staff to Senator John Heinz, former Mayor of the Borough of Greentree, and Chairman of the Three Rivers Regatta, the largest inland regatta in the United States. He has held positions in major corporations and as a lobbyist.
