WCOB Faculty Prepares for New Semester

Dr. Marie Archambault discusses best practices for program assessment.

The faculty of the Gary E. West College of Business is gearing up for the Fall 2012 Semester with a series of speakers and meetings addressing such issues as assessment, technology, and curriculum.  Faculty events began Monday, August 20, with an all-day Assessment Meeting held at Oglebay, featuring Marie Archambault, Ph.D., C.P.A., CMA, Associate Professor in the Division of Accountancy & Legal Environment at Marshall University.  Dr. Archambault has been extremely involved in assessment activities for Marshall’s AACSB-accredited Accounting Program and shared best practices from her experience.  The faculty also reviewed current assessment data, including Major Field Test scores and oral and written communication assessment results from the 2011-2012 Academic Year.

On Thursday, August 23, the annual Faculty Retreat will be held at Stratford Springs.  This day-long meeting brings together the dean, department chairs, and the faculty to provide procedural updates, technology training, interaction opportunities, and strategic planning for the upcoming year.

Later in September, the WCOB will hold a second assessment workshop.
