Fall ’13 Sports Highlights

  • A promising start ended in a disappointing finish for the football team, which fell short of the .500 mark for only the second time in Coach Roger Waialae’s
    9 seasons.
  • Senior kicker Bryan Arbes finished second in the nation with a school-record 19 field goals while junior punter Griff Yocum averaged a school-record 41.5 yards per punt.


  • Coach Barry Christmas’s women’s soccer team celebrated the opening of the West Liberty Soccer Complex with a strong second season.
  • Courtney Webb and Janice Johnson were second-team All-MEC picks with Webb being named to the MEC All-Freshman Team.


  • Coach Heather Gallagher’s women’s tennis team were MEC runners-up, finishing the fall ranked No. 47 nationally and No. 4 in the Atlantic Region.
  • Raissa Wischi and Lauren Howard were first-team All-MEC selections with Raquel Cabero and Emily Dawson earning second-team honors.

2012-12-06 16Cross Country

  • Coach Eric McLaughlin’s men’s and women’s cross country teams impressed at the MEC championships.
  • The women finished third with three second-team All-MEC picks in Leah Figurski, Alexis Virtue and Elena Romanek.
  • The men finished fifth with Andrew Lowery picking up a second-team All-MEC spot.
