Horzempa named repeat W.Va. Prof. of the Year finalist

West Liberty University Associate Professor of Biology Dr. Joseph Horzempa has been chosen as one of five finalists for the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia’s Professor of the Year award two years in a row, as announced on Jan. 17, 2018. 

Nutting Gallery showcases tree-themed faculty artwork

The annual faculty exhibition opened on Jan. 17 in the Nutting Gallery. Robert Villamagna, the gallery’s director, came up with the idea of having an annual art faculty exhibition. Every year, he picks the theme from all the art faculty members’ votes. This year’s theme is “Tree.” 

Alumnus scores touchdown with NFL cleat design

WLU alumnus Vinnie Candelore designed special cleats for Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jesse James for the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” campaign.
 
Candelore, a freelance graphic designer and 2013 graduate, designed the custom cleats James wore on Dec. 4, 2017 when playing against the Cincinnati Bengals.

International competition reaches the hilltop

Fall Festival kicks off this weekend in West Liberty

The annual Fall Festival will take place on Sept. 30 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Hall, located on Van Meter Way. Fall Festival is an annual event in West Liberty for a day of fun for all ages.
