Places singles should avoid on Valentine’s Day

We all know that stress that comes around once a year when you look on the calendar and see that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, Valentine’s Day is a headache. Being single on Valentine’s Day is difficult, because no matter where you go, you’ll be surrounded by couples and your feelings of jealousy and loneliness will creep into the back of your mind. 

Campus ready to rock at West Lib Idol next week

Campus favorite West Lib Idol is back again this year. The month-long event will kick off next Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the Student Union ballroom at 7 p.m. There will be four rounds, one held every Wednesday. 

Students shine in Toppers Got Talent finale

Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the fourth and final week of Toppers Got Talent on Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. The judges of the evening were Jessica Ballard, Chelsea Williams, Ashley Pryor and Zach Rhodes.  Serenity Sparkle also returned to host the event.

Have you ever felt that college is supposed to be something more than 50-minute lectures and online quizzes? Going to school in the Ohio Valley, it is hard not to think about ways to help the local community, and to do something that would matter here and now. One of the newest programs at West Liberty University, Community Education, might help one do just that.

WLU remains hopeful despite looming budget cuts

As the state prepares for the new fiscal year, proposing a new budget is the top priority. The House and Senate recently passed the West Virginia state budget, and it was on its way for approval by Gov. Jim Justice. In the proposed budget, cuts affected the Department of Health and Human Resources and Medicaid; however, WLU and universities across the state will also be affected with cuts from higher education.
