Favorite artists that remind me of my mother

Everybody has a song that reminds them of someone, whether it be a ballad that reminds you of your significant other, a pump up song that reminds you of your best friend, or any other song. Music is something that brought my mother and I very close together. We went to multiple concerts together and bonded through the different artists.

As the General Manager of WGLZ, I receive tons of music from unsigned artists who are trying to make it big in the industry. They send me music to listen to and if I like it, I add it to our station’s music library to be included over the air. Here are five artists that I have come across that you need to check out today.

Campus radio station prepares for another big semester

A new semester means fresh ideas, new people and an updated schedule for student organizations. DJs at WGLZ, West Liberty’s radio station, are not wasting their time and have lined up some events for the campus community.

Student plans 24-hour marathon for College Radio Day

College Radio Day (CRD) has been a growing tradition at West Liberty University, with this being the third year that WGLZ will observe the nation-wide celebration. This year, a three-day lineup of events, including a live 24-hour marathon hosted by freshman Walker Polivka, will boost excitement for the sixth annual CRD, which is tomorrow, Nov. 4

How I generate a weekly radio program

Every Sunday night, I go on-air at 6 p.m. and talk and play music for people on a station called House of Prog. Over the years, many people have asked me how I do it. How do I manage to assemble a three hour playlist, weekly, and keep it ‘fresh’? Well, I’m not going to give away all of my secrets, but I hope to shed some light on what is a simple question with quite a number of answers.
