WLU opens lactation room on College Union’s top floor

Upstairs in the College Union, a space is now available for students, faculty and staff who are nursing with the new lactation room in room S3. Plans for this space have been in the making for a while, but it’s now finally ready to be utilized.

College allows students to exercise independence

A significant time of maturation and independent growth is during the college years. College provides the setting for exploring new-found freedom. Students have the choice to live on their own and make many of their own day to day decisions, but they still have the structure and the basic rules that on-campus living stresses. When parents fail to loosen the reins of control when their students go to college, a large part of imperative personal growth is lost and has adverse effects for the parent.

Being her first child, my mom has told the story of my birth many times. It always starts with her telling the anecdote about how my grandparents got to the hospital before she did; of course, the whole family was very excited, but apparently they just couldn’t wait to meet me.
