Recently, West Liberty University has been in the public eye about serious incidents, such as allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence, concerning past and current WLU students. Questions have been raised on how WLU treats these incidents, and the steps that are taken after they occur.

Many factors go into choosing a university: finding the right degree program, unique extracurricular activities, different clubs and organizations and an overall fun atmosphere play a huge part in finding a school to spend the next four years of your life. The one aspect that is beginning to play a bigger role in the selection process is campus safety.

Donation makes indoor facility possible for WLU

On Oct. 25, Belmont Savings Bank donated $200,000 to West Liberty University to build a new indoor practice facility for the baseball and softball teams.

West Liberty’s new talent show, Toppers Got Talent, aims to challenge West Lib Idol. The four-week talent show will start at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6 and will continue on every Monday, Nov. 13, 20, and 27, in the College Union Ballroom.

Shotwell possesses this year’s Haunted Halls

This year, Haunted Halls is going to be held in the oldest building on campus, Shotwell Hall. The event will take place on Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

‘Memories of Memories’ opens in Nutting Gallery

On Sept. 27, West Liberty University’s Nutting Gallery opened its newest showcase of artwork from Pittsburgh artist, Nicole Renee Ryan. 
 
The show exhibition is called “Nicole Ryan: Memories of Memories.” Ryan is a contemporary watercolorist, oil painter and muralist from Mercer, Pa. She is currently working in Pittsburgh. This showcase included multiple watercolor and oil paintings; each piece ranging from $400 to $8,000.
