Student art sale to help fund scholarships

Today, on Thursday, Nov. 9, West Liberty art students will be selling screen-printed t-shirts, totes, and backpacks in the College Union. The event will take place from noon until 2 p.m. and all the money collected will benefit The Robert Villamagna Jr. Scholarship and Student Art Exchange Fund.

WLU opens lactation room on College Union’s top floor

Upstairs in the College Union, a space is now available for students, faculty and staff who are nursing with the new lactation room in room S3. Plans for this space have been in the making for a while, but it’s now finally ready to be utilized.

April reminds us about the environment and sustainability. Throughout the month, the world celebrates a number of events aimed to end what actor and an environmentalist Ian Somerhalder called “environmental apathy.” From the National Environmental Education Week to Earth Day, April is filled with opportunities to learn more about the environment and the ways to help our planet.

Emilie Wesney was named the winner of the 2017 West Lib Idol tonight Wednesday, Feb. 22. The final round of the competition took place at 7 p.m. in the College Union Ballroom.

The third night of West Lib Idol was held tonight, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. The theme of the night was Valentine’s Day. However, that did not necessarily mean love, and some people sang about heartbreak and breakups.

A Look into the 15th Annual MADfest

Friday, April 10th, 2015 marked the 15th annual Media Arts and Design festival (MADfest), which was held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will took place on campus and involved 26 workshop sessions, presentations from professionals in the field of media design, and a student awards ceremony held in College Hall.

The awards ceremony was presented by MADfest Director and Professor of Graphic and Digital Media Design, Jim Haizlett and was judged in categories that include Film, Digital Imaging, Electronic Music, Animation and Illustration, Photography, and Graphic Design to name a few.
