Lady Toppers look for season sweep of Charleston

Charleston University will visit West Liberty this weekend for a Mountain East Conference matchup. A win will give our Lady Toppers two for the season against a Golden Eagles team who was ranked first in the coaches’ preseason polls.

Hilltoppers outlast Charleston at West Family Stadium

On a beautiful Thursday night at West Liberty University, the Hilltoppers took on the 1-1 Charleston Golden Eagles. After a night full of missed field goals, West Liberty came away with the 9-6 victory and advanced to an overall 2-1 record.

Hilltopper football set to bounce back against Charleston

The Hilltoppers’ football team has started off their season with one win and one loss. Losing 34-0 on the road against West Virginia Wesleyan was a setback for the Hilltoppers. Putting themselves in a deep hole in the first quarter, the Hilltoppers went down 0-20 with Wesleyan scoring three touchdowns. One of the touchdowns was an impressive blocked punt, which was recovered by Anthony Robinson in the end zone. 

Lady Hilltoppers hit the road for two doubleheaders

After a split decision in their first two games at home, the softball Lady Hilltoppers will hit the road again for two doubleheaders in Charleston and Institute, W.Va. 
 
Beginning on Saturday, March 25, the WLU Toppers (5-5, 1-1 MEC) are traveling to southern West Virginia to face two Mountain East Conference matchups against the University of Charleston Golden Eagles (10-7, 2-0 MEC) and the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets (14-10, 0-2 MEC). 

Hilltopper men beat FSU, take MEC tournament crown

This past weekend, Jim Crutchfield’s Hilltoppers traveled to Charleston, W. Va. and beat Glenville State, Wheeling Jesuit University and Fairmont State to take home their first Mountain East Conference tournament championship in school history.
