After a shakeup in the coaching staff and the roster in the offseason, the preseason No. 17 West Liberty University men’s basketball team is ready to kick off the 2017-18 season on the court with the MEC/PSAC Challenge.

WLU volleyball faces tough MEC test this weekend

The West Liberty women’s volleyball team will be closing at-home play in the 2017 regular season this weekend, with games against Fairmont State and Shepherd. Both of those teams sit towards the top of the Mountain East Conference (MEC).

After a tough start, the West Liberty women’s volleyball team earned a split at this past weekend’s MEC/PSAC Crossover at the ASRC, managing to knock off two Atlantic Region teams on their way to MEC conference play this weekend.

After returning a history making team and making key offseason additions, the West Liberty women’s volleyball team began their 2017 season on the road by sweeping the Long Island Tournament this past weekend, starting with a perfect 4-0 record.

After last year’s record setting season, the West Liberty women’s volleyball team is ready to do it all again. Last season saw the Lady Toppers put up a 23-14 record and 11-6 in conference, making it their first winning season since 1991 and their most wins since back-to-back 26-win seasons in 1981 and 1982, when West Liberty began play.

After the very successful bus trip to NYC this past April, my sister and I knew we wanted to try to go back this summer, take in the city and watch a show before my sister moved away for college. The West Liberty Hilltoppers Football Team just released their schedule for the upcoming fall season. Fans familiar with the schedule from last season may note some important changes; a matchup with a long-time rival is moved closer to the end of the schedule and the Toppers will play host to a new out-of-conference opponent.

WLU basketball hits the road for MEC tournament

This last weekend saw the regular seasons of West Liberty’s men’s and women’s basketball teams end in a heartbreak to rivals Wheeling Jesuit. One was at the hands of a buzzer-beating layup, and the other was a triple-overtime thriller at the free-throw line.
 
While this certainly isn’t the way the Toppers wanted to see their regular season end, the season is far from over for either of them as they both move on to post-season play in the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Tournament and beyond.
