Toppers Got Talent delivers in the third round

The third week of Toppers Got Talent took place this Monday night, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. in the College Union. Contestants Devante Brown, Alexis Smith, Andrew Mehler as Boston Michaels, Audrey Blust and Sean McCarty returned for the third round.

The second week of Toppers Got Talent took place this Monday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. No contestants were eliminated last week, and all were able to return for the second round. SGA also gave out free t-shirts and snacks throughout the evening.

Student art sale to help fund scholarships

Today, on Thursday, Nov. 9, West Liberty art students will be selling screen-printed t-shirts, totes, and backpacks in the College Union. The event will take place from noon until 2 p.m. and all the money collected will benefit The Robert Villamagna Jr. Scholarship and Student Art Exchange Fund.

Veterans to hold flag ceremony tomorrow

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, the Student Veterans’ Association will be having a flag raising ceremony on the quad at noon in honor of Veterans Day. 

Hilltop Players’ one-act plays entertain audiences

On Oct. 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m., the West Liberty University Hilltop Players presented five short one act plays. The production was directed by John Hennen and it took place in the chapel.

West Liberty’s new talent show, Toppers Got Talent, aims to challenge West Lib Idol. The four-week talent show will start at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6 and will continue on every Monday, Nov. 13, 20, and 27, in the College Union Ballroom.

Nursing students recognized with white coat ceremony

On Sept. 21, West Liberty’s nursing program held the annual white coat ceremony marking the third-year and BA-BS to BSN students’ transition into the professional field. 
 
This year, 25 junior nursing students donned their white coats as well as 10 students in the initial BA-BS to BSN program. 

Elbin Library celebrates ‘Banned Book Week’

The last week of September is considered “Banned Books Week,” which aims to celebrate books that have been challenged or banned and celebrate freedom of speech while bringing awareness to the negative impacts of censorship. From Sept. 24 to the 30, West Liberty University participated in the event.

Toppers past and present gear up for Homecoming
