Administrators urge positivity despite budget cuts

In recent weeks, there have been a number of articles published about university cuts to certain academic programs, extracurricular activities, and other areas. According to administrators, these budget cuts have resulted from reductions in state appropriation and a decline in enrollment; however, they said, the university is continuing to work toward overcoming these challenges and the West Liberty community should try to stay positive.

Students plan Earth Day activities in surrounding community

The 46th annual Earth Day falls on April 22, 2016, and several groups and individuals on campus have scheduled programs to engage the West Liberty University community as well as the surrounding area.

Environmental Education Day (WLUEED) was held in the Student Union Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 for its fourth consecutive year. Run by Dr. Dave Thomas, there were various participating organizations from around the area promoting environmental sustainability information, including the Wheeling Green Table, the West Virginia Naturalist Program, and the Schrader Environmental Center.
