Music Major workshop to be streamed live

West Liberty University’s Department of Music and Theater will present a free workshop at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 30 at the Highlands Center campus to address questions on the process and result of earning a music degree. This special workshop, geared towards pre-college musicians, will provide information about majoring in music as well as an overview of music careers for prospective college students, according to Dr. Matthew Harder, interim dean of the College of Arts and Communication.

Spotlight on Elli Garbark

West Liberty alumni Elli Garbark has been singing since she was a little girl. Throughout her middle and high school years, Garbark leant her voice to The National Anthem at local sporting events, won the Queen of Queens pageant performing her song “My Everything”, won West Liberty Idol in 2012, and performing with her mom, Loretta, singing at retirement homes, flea markets, charities, fairs, festivals, Jamboree in the Hills, and just about anywhere else they could find.
