Art Student Shares Her Inspirations, Fears and Hopes

By Natasha Muhametzyanova, Contributing Writer

It’s 8 a.m. on Monday morning, and a sophomore, Maria Christine Pangilinan, starts her day in a creative mood: her first class today is a graphic design course. Maria Christine, or as she likes to call herself, Maricris, is an aspiring artist majoring in graphic design. She, just like many other artists, has a story to tell.

“I am passionate about a lot of things, but art is something that really speaks to me,” said Maricris, her eyes are focused on a paper; she is working on a new sketch. “Art makes me challenge myself. This semester I am taking a digital imaging class which focuses on creating projects for contests around the world.”
