Audition Notice for Under Milk Wood

Calling all West Liberty students that have an interest in acting and or singing! Kelly Theater will be holding auditions for Under Milk Wood next month. More than 35 roles are currently available and the need for actors and actresses is increasing quite rapidly. All students are encouraged to audition.

Production Designer Meta Lasch wants all students interested to be aware that, “You will be asked to reads excerpts from the script and be prepared to sing without accompaniment. A short 16 bar piece of your choosing.”

Auditions will be held on Dec. 1, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Dec. 2, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm in Kelly Theater on the West Liberty campus. Under Milk Wood is a radio drama written by Dylan Thomas in the early 1950’s. The play presents a small fishing village to the audience and gives them an inside look at the village people’s lives as well as their dreams.

 “It was originally written by Thomas as a play for voices, but has been produced for the stage and film. A BBC adaptation was done this year for television,” stated Director Maggie Balsley.
