Welcome to the residential community at West Liberty University! We now have room assignment and roommate information available for our students. Please review the information below to learn how to find that information, and what to do next. If you have any questions, email residencelife@westliberty.edu or call (304)336-8345.
Q: Where do I find my room assignment and roommate information?
A: You can now access your room assignment information through your West Liberty University Information Network System (WINS) account online. Students can access the WINS program by clicking on the WINS icon on our webpage (westliberty.edu). The following is a list of steps to access your room information:
- Go to westliberty.edu, select the “Go” icon near the top right corner.
- On the “Go WLU” page, select WINS.
- To Log In, please use your Student ID as the USERID (this includes the “@”).
- Next, use your six digit birthdate (MMDDYY) as the PIN.
- After logging in, you will be required to change your PIN. Please keep track of your new PIN, as you will need it throughout your time as a student.
- Once in the WINS program, click on the Student Services tab.
- Next, click on the link for My Housing
- You should then see a display of the most up to date room assignment information, including your roommate’s name and contact information. If you do not have a roommate listed, we are still in the process of assigning one, or your requested roommate has not yet applied.
Q: Why do I not have an assignment yet?
A: We will process assignments for a student after we receive both a deposit and an application. If you think you have paid the deposit and completed an application, but have not received an assignment, please contact our office at residencelife@westliberty.edu or (304)336-8345.
Q: Why is there not an assigned roommate listed yet?
A: If you have not requested a specific roommate, we are still looking for a match for you, and will likely assign you a roommate soon. Please check back to your account for updates. If you have requested a roommate, and still do not have roommate information listed, we may still be waiting for an application and/or deposit from your selected roommate.
Q: Can I change my course schedule in WINS now that I have access?
A: Although you will have access to your class schedule, you should not make any changes until speaking with an Enrollment Services representative. We are still working on assigning schedules, and you will receive your final schedule at the Orientation & Registration Day you attend over the summer. We encourage you not to make changes without talking with an Enrollment Services staff member, so that you do not remove yourself from classes you may need to take so that you can graduate in a timely manner. If you have schedule questions, please contact the Enrollment Services Center at (304)336-8076. If your schedule is not complete, remember, we are still finalizing schedules!
Q: What is Summer Orientation and Registration?
A: Summer Orientation and Registration is an opportunity to receive important information and complete preparation for the upcoming semester. Register now for your orientation day! At this event you will:
- receive important information to help you be successful as a student.
- meet current students with great tips for success.
- receive your class schedule and be able to make changes with a member of our staff if needed.
- see your residence hall room.
- complete financial aid and billing paperwork.
- get your picture taken for your TopperCard (student ID).
Q: What if I do not think my roommate and I are a good match?
A: We are always willing to work with students to find the right living arrangement. If you wish to change your roommate for any reason, at any time, please contact the Office of Housing & Student Life at (304)336-8345 or residencelife@westliberty.edu and we will help you find a better living arrangement.
Q: When can I move in to my residence halls?
A: All new students can move in on Friday, August 23rd between 10am and 4pm.
Q: What can/should I bring to my residence hall?
A: We offer The Packing List, a suggested checklist of items to bring to the residence halls. This list also includes a few items that are not permitted in the residence halls: weapons, drugs, alcohol, and items with open heating elements for example.
Q: How do I change my meal plan?
A: You can change your meal plan each semester. The deadline is the second Friday of each new semester. If you would like to keep the same meal plan, you do not need to complete a change form. If you wish to change, you may do so through the My Housing portal by selecting the Meal Plan section and change option.
