Health Education

The mission of the Health Education Program is to provide future Health Education teachers the ability:

(1) To provide experiences relating to instructional styles and modalities.
(2) To provide experiences for assessing individual and community needs for health education.
(3) To provide experiences for planning effective health education programs.
(4) To provide experiences for implementing health education programs.
(5) To provide experiences for evaluating the effectiveness of health education services.
(6) To provide experiences for coordinating provision of health education services.
(7) To provide experiences for acting as a resource person in health education.
(8) To provide experiences for communicating health and educational needs, concerns and resources.
(9) To prepare students for graduate work and further training in the allied areas.
(10) To provide experiences for students wishing to pursue a non educational health field.

This major, general studies, and professional education to total 128 credit hours minimum. A second specialization in Physical Education is strongly recommended.
