Major Degrees

Department of Health and Human Performance offers health and human performance programs in four areas. The degree programs are as follows:

  • Athletic Training
    The Athletic Training degree at WLU will give students the opportunity to experience cross-discipline studies in Physical Education, Health Education, Exercise Physiology, and Athletic Training.  The education component incorporated in the degree is vital because according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately forty percent of athletic trainers work in public and private educational services, primarily colleges, universities, and high schools.
  • Exercise Physiology
    The goal of the Exercise Physiology Program at West Liberty University is to reflect those of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP) as well as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), while providing students with a solid foundation in factual and conceptual mastery of human movement study.
  • Health Education
    The mission of Health Education program is to provide future Health Education teachers a variety of experiences with effective health education programs.
  • Physical Education
    The mission of Physical Education program is to provide future Physical Education teachers a variety of experiences with effective physical education programs.
