Danny Johnson is a 31 year old Motion graphics and Visual Effects artist living in Pittsburgh PA. He has been working professionally around Pittsburgh for 8 years and has worked with some of the largest brands in the world as well as many local companies. He likes trying to take every project in a different direction to keep growing his design. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, snowboarding, skateboarding and competing on the NBC television show American Ninja Warrior!
2017 MAD Festival Audio Juror – Mark Snyder – Website
Mark Snyder is a composer, performer, producer, songwriter, video artist and teacher living in Fredericksburg Virginia. Mark’s multimedia compositions have been described as “expansive, expressive, extremely human, ….Snyder’s compositions attract performers who resist to works with electronics as well as audiences who don’t think they want to hear computer processing.” Dr. Snyder is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Mary Washington teaching courses in electronic music, composition and theory. Working in conjunction with found and computer-generated video, Snyder moves seamlessly between high and low influences, and the realms of “art” and popular music.
2017 MAD Festival Illustration Juror – Em DeMarco – Website
Em DeMarco is a freelance comics journalist and illustrator. Comics journalism is not satirical or humorous, but simply an illustrated form of reporting the story. She writes and draws a monthly comics journalism feature for the Pittsburgh City Paper. She self-publishes a comic called “Skull Quest” and takes photos at punk shows. Before journalism, she worked as a seamstress, carpenter, bread baker, and mold maker. Instagram = @emcorp_headquarters
2016 MAD Festival Imaging Juror – Jesse Lenz – Website
Jesse Lenz is a prolific illustrator, photographer, and publisher. He has produced covers for publications such as Newsweek, The New York Times, T Magazine, and many others. He is also the Co-Founder of The Collective Quarterly. A 200+ page, globally circulated publication about discovering the world, one place per issue.
Jesse is a graduate of West Liberty University’s Art Department.
