West Liberty University is taking part in a national initiative that asks college students and members of campus communities to make a personal commitment to take a stand and be a part of the solution to campus sexual assault, the It’s On Us campaign. This initiative seeks to inspire everyone to see it as his or her responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent sexual violence. We have taken the Pledge.

  • Tuesday, October 11th – Shine the Light Event at Serenades
  • Wednesday, October 12th – Take the Pledge Event in the College Union
    11am – 2pm Take the Pledge table open to all in the College Union
    12pm Presidents and Homecoming Candidates signing the Pledge in the College Union

 


Title IX is federal legislation from the US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and gender in education programs, including athletic programs or activities that receive federal funding. Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex or gender can include sexual harassment and interpersonal violence including: stalking, relationship violence, and sexual violence.
