Appalachian writer Maggie Anderson be in residence at West Liberty University on October 4th and 5th as part of the Hughes Lecture Series. Anderson is author of six books, including Dear All, which is due out next year from Four Way Books. Her poetry has been featured in several poetry journals and has appeared in over 50 anthologies and textbooks. She is currently completing a novel, which is tentatively titled All the Days.
During her stay at WLU, she will visit several classes in the Humanities Department, including Appalachian Literature and the Creative Writing: Poetry class.
In addition to working with students, she will be presenting at the Ohio County Library at noon on Tuesday as part of their Lunch with Books program. Later Tuesday, she will give her Hughes Lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge.
On Wednesday, she will read some of her poetry in the Alumni Lounge at 11 a.m. before continuing her work with students.
