STATEMENT:
Eligible employees are granted annual leave with the amount of leave based on the level of position, responsibility, service and other factors. All annual leave accruals are pro-rated according to the full-time equivalency (FTE) of the individual position.
PROVISIONS:
I. ELIGIBILITY AND ANNUAL ALLOWANCE
Except as otherwise provided herein, eligible employees shall accumulate and receive annual leave with pay as follows:
A. Non-classified positions and administrative faculty with 12-month contracts shall be eligible for 24 days’ total leave per year, calculated at the rate of 2 days per month from the date of employment. Annual and sick leave will be accrued on bi-weekly basis.
B. All other benefit eligible employees in the classified positions shall be eligible for annual leave with pay on the following basis:
1. Less than 5 years service (60 months) = 15 days per year;
2. 5 – 10 years service (120 months) = 18 days per year;
3. 10 – 15 years service (180 months) = 21 days per year;
4. 15 or more years service = 24 days per year.
C. Term of service described in B above shall be total service and does not require continuous service to fulfill the required term. However, employees on a leave of absence without pay do not accrue annual leave for the time they are off the payroll.
D. Employees working at least .53 FTE but less than 1.00 FTE on a regular and continuing basis shall accumulate annual leave on a pro-rata basis to the limits described above in “B”.
