Duties include:
• Educating patient and documenting patient’s dental history or chief complaint.
• Taking blood pressure
• Examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions
• Taking intraoral photos
• Performing routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, polishing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, periodontal scaling, root planing, debridement, and related procedures
• Providing patient with a comprehensive plan to attain or retain overall great health
