Newt Gingrich to Address West Liberty University Economics Club
Former US House Speaker, Time “Man of the Year”
in Wheeling Friday, October 16 at 2:45 p.m. – Capitol Music Hall
Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of the United States Representatives, will address the next meeting of the West Liberty University Economics Club at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009.
Due to the overwhelming response, the event will be moved to the Capitol Music Hall in downtown Wheeling. Due to the move to the larger venue, reservations are no longer required. The event is open to the public and admission is free with the completion of registration at the door.
Gingrich served as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. Prior to becoming Speaker, Gingrich served as Minority Whip from 1989 to 1995 where he represented Georgia’s Sixth District in Congress since 1979.
Gingrich is Chairman of the Gingrich Group, a communications and consulting firm with offices in Atlanta and Washington, DC. He serves as General Chairman of American Solutions for Winning the Future, is a Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC, a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California and is an Honorary Chairman of the NanoBusiness Alliance. He is also a news and political analyst for the Fox News Channel. In 1995, Time magazine selected Gingrich as its “Man of the Year.”
A strong advocate of volunteerism, Gingrich has long championed the positive impact every individual can have on society. He has raised millions of dollars for charity, donating both time and money to a wide array of causes, including Habitat for Humanity, United Cerebral Palsy, the American Cancer Society, and ZooAtlanta. A former environmental studies professor, he is widely recognized for his commitment to the environment.
