Michael King, Asst. Prof. of Communication


With more than 30 years in the communication field, King joined the faculty of WLU in 2010. He has extensive experience working in print, advertising, electronic media and public relations.

In 2005 he was awarded a Fellowship with the American Society of Newspaper Editors and in 2007 presented a paper to the C.S. Lewis Foundation, “The University in Crises: A Personal Crises?”

He teaches in the ADCOM and PR concentrations with research interests in media convergence and the use of social media initiatives in advertising and public relations. Social networking, the democratization of the web, wiki, RSS and SEO technology, webcasts, podcasts, vlogs, and micro-blogging are just a few of the current “Web 2.0 and 3.0 technologies” affecting public relations efforts in every public and private sector.
