Michael King, M.A.

With more than 33 years in communications, King joined the faculty of WLU in 2010. He has extensive experience working in print, advertising, electronic media, and public relations.

In 2005 he was awarded a Fellowship with the American Society of Newspaper Editors and in 2007 presented a paper to the C.S. Lewis Foundation, “The University in Crises: A Personal Crises?” In 2104 and 2015 he presented workshops on digital/media literacy in the classroom at the West Virginia Higher Education Technology Conference (WVHETC). He is also a certified online course peer reviewer with Quality Matters.

King teaches in the ADCOM and PR majors with research interests in media convergence and the use of social media initiatives in education and media. Social networking, the democratization of the web, wiki, RSS and SEO technology, webcasts, podcasts, vlogs, and micro-blogging are just a few of the current “Web 2.0 and 3.0 technologies” affecting public relations efforts in every public and private sector.
