Now that you have made the decision to start your career with us, let me tell you a little about our department and provide you with some resources and contact information. Our intention is for you to have a successful time while you are here and that your experience allows you to grow as an individual.
You are arriving on campus at a unique time in the history of West Liberty University. In 2006, we opened our state of the art WLU Media Center with digital technologies that help us prepare our students for high-tech media environments.
We have worked very hard to become one of the best communication and media programs in the tri-state area and the success of our alumni transitioning into full-time media professionals are a testament to the kind of quality education they receive.
Our hope is that you one day you will be counted among them.
You will find that most of our faculty has a mixture of academic credentials and professional experiences. That means that they know what it takes to be successful in today’s competitive job market. I assure you that they are eager to share their experiences with you.
We make great strides to stay current with technology and information in this ever-changing media environment. This is vital for us in order to present to our students all the new forms of modern digital media.
Whether you are majoring in advertising communications, broadcasting, communication studies, documentary film, journalism, public relations, sports broadcasting, or minoring in advertising communication or public relations, the West Liberty University communication department will teach you what you need to know to be a professional modern media specialist.
I have provided my contact information below as well as contact information for the dean of our college, Dr. William Baronak. Both of us are happy and eager to hear about your experiences at West Liberty University. I have also provided some other links that you may find useful to ensure your success while you are with us.
